Top 5 Reasons Parents Choose PAS
Interested in knowing what other parents are saying about PAS? We've interviewed parents and asked why they've chosen PAS. Below are the top 5 things they love about our school.
1. Character Development
At PAS, students are taught daily lessons on character development and what it means to be a Christian. Teachers, staff, and volunteers believe in teaching students life long lessons that they will need well after graduation. They build students up with positive words and firm discipline, strengthening them to be confident leaders who are able to make tough decisions. Using the safe environment of a small private school, students develop character so that when they face more adult challenges, they are prepared.
2. Safe Learning Environment=Excellent Academics
In order to ensure the best education possible, no more than 15 students are allowed in each classroom. This way, teachers are able to work individually with students as needed, students have more frequent access to their classroom computer labs, and outdoor learning happens often, at least once a month. At PAS, we believe that learning doesn't only happen within the walls of the classroom but all around us. Our class sizes are manageable so we can take students outside of the school and encouraging them to learn about the world around them. Having students and parents so comfortable in their learning environment leads to better academics overall. Parents feel safe knowing that each child, no matter what their differences, is well cared for and is given the proper attention from teachers and staff. 3. Stellar Music Program
Music plays such an important role in the learning process and in the lives of children. PAS offers a variety of music programs including Guitars in the Classroom for grades K-8, Choir K-8, Band Program on the Monterey Bay Academy campus, and Orchestras in the School. Students lead with thier musical abilities and all have the chance to participate in musical groups at least twice a week. With four music teachers, on and off campus, students have plenty of opportunities to explore their musical gifts and talents.
Our staff and students represent very culturally diverse ethnic backgrounds. This provides us with a rich cultural environment that encourages students to learn how to work together with so many unique differences. Diversity is important and PAS makes sure that each family is able to share more about themselves throughout the school year, making students feel comfortable about their backgrounds and more understanding of others'. 5. Private School Education at an Affordable Cost
The Monterey Peninsula community goes to great lengths to provide a safe learning environment where children are well educated at an affordable cost. With funding from our community partners, PAS continues to keep it's tuition rates low for all families and provides additional scholarships for those who qualify. Parents are always asking how we keep our cost so low. It's simple, we have many people who love our school and work hard to make it available to all students on the Peninsula. With the assistance of PTA fundraisers and community donations, you will be pleasantly surprised at our competitive tuition rates.
